Cavitt is on the Honor Roll!:

Our school was chosen, again, by Educational Results Partnership (ERP) and the Campaign for Business and Education Excellence (CBEE) as a 2016 California Honor Roll recipient! 

The California Honor Roll is part of a national effort known for its extensive and rigorous analysis of student achievement in public schools. Our school stood above other schools in the state because of our success in getting students to grade level achievement and beyond. 

We did not apply for this award (they found us!) and it is a great honor to have been chosen. We will be featured on the Honor Roll website and we will hang our new banner proudly at our school. 

Thanks to the hard work of the students and teachers here at Cavitt Jr. High School, we are being recognized for our achievement. This is a testament to the relentless focus on results that our school has shown over the years and to the hard work of our entire school community. From all of us here at Cavitt Jr. High School, I give heartfelt congratulations. Together, we are improving education for all students by sharing our success.

 

Enrollment Confirmation Forms:

The Enrollment Confirmation Forms for students entering 7th and 8th grade in the 2017/2018 school year were sent home electronically on 4/19. These forms are vital in the preparation of next year’s courses. Completion of this form is required for each student.  ALL students must submit a form online NO later than Friday, May 5, 2017.  Submissions after the due date may be honored only as space in the requested course allows. If you did not receive the email, please visit the Cavitt website at cavitt.eurekausd.org.  The link to the forms is available on the front page.

 

A Message from the Graduation Committee:

8th Grade Graduation:  We need your donations and help to make the 8th grade graduation a fun, memorable event.  You can sign up to bring food, drinks, raffle prizes and so much more. Please use the link below.

Graduation Dance:  Please use the following website to sign-up for the graduation dance; we need food, drinks, help with set up and clean up etc.

8th Grade Graduation Packets:

Grad packets are past due.  To date, 89% of 8th graders have returned their graduation packets.  If you have not already done so, please make sure to thoroughly go through the packets. They contain important information about graduation festivities as well as forms that need to be filled out and returned. Your student will not be able to participate in some of the activities if we do not receive the permission forms back.

Graduation activities are only funded by donations. Please consider donating.  The amount we asked for is the minimum cost per student.  At this time we will be eliminating grad t-shirts and the panoramic picture due to low purchasing quantities and lack of donations.  Thank you for the understanding.

Additional packets are available in the Cavitt office. Packets are past due!

 

Spring Pictures:

Thank you to those that have already returned your spring pictures.  For those that have not, please return your payment or unwanted portraits to the Cavitt office ASAP.

There are three easy steps to ordering and returning pictures!

1) Choose the portrait sheets you would like to keep.

2) Pay online at mylifetouch.com or by returning the payment to the Cavitt office.

3) Return any portraits you don’t purchase to the school.

 

 

Cavitt Cyber Cowboys (Vex Robotics Team #9537) is Recruiting for 2017-2018 Season!:

  • The Cavitt Cyber Cowboys is a student-centered team that strives to increase student interest and involvement in STEM. Team members develop their engineering, programming, teamwork and communication skills using the VEX Robotics competition platform.
  • Team #9537 is currently recruiting for next season, which will feature a brand new competition game to be unveiled at the World Championship on April 22nd!  
  • Interested 7th and 8th grade Cavitt Jr High School STEM/PLTW students can learn more by visiting our demonstration field at the Cavitt Open House on Thursday, May 11th. 
  • The team also needs Adult mentors for the 2017-2018 school year to help guide the team in new concepts, software and mechanical skills, and team productivity.

GBHS Freshman Football:

GBHS 2017 Freshman Football on-line registration is now open!! Please visit www.granitebayfootball.com and click the “Register Online” button on the left to begin the process. There will be a Freshman Football Orientation meeting for both players and parents on Wednesday, May 31st at 6pm in the GBHS Football Stadium. No previous experience is necessary. Be sure to check our website often for updated information and news. Go Grizzlies!!

 

GBHS Freshman Cross Country:

Granite Bay High School 2017 Freshman Cross Country Registration meeting on Tuesday, May 23rd at 6:30pm in the library. Topics include, Summer & Fall practice schedule, spirit-wear pre-orders and team expectations. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting. 2017-2018 EUSD School Calendar:

On December 13, 2016, the EUSD Board of Trustees approved the calendar for the 2017-2018 school year.  We have attached a copy of the calendar for your convenience and for reference when planning your vacations.

 

Independent Study Contract:

Parents must notify the School principal, Designee or Office Staff of the need for requesting a Master Agreement for Short Term Independent Study NO LESS THAN FIVE (5) BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR to the initiation (first day) of the Agreement.  Assignments will be provided on the school day prior to the entry date noted on the Master Agreement.  All assignments must be returned to school no later than the school day following the exit date noted on the Master Agreement in order for the student to receive attendance credit. 

All short term Independent Study Agreements need to be completed prior to 2 weeks from the last day of school and no new Agreements will be started during the last 2 weeks of school.
