Greetings Band Families!

 

I am so excited to begin my fifth year of teaching band in the Eureka Union School District.  I am currently teaching 5th & 6th Grade Band at Ridgeview Elementary School and 7th Grade Concert Band, 8th Grade Symphonic Band and Jazz Band at Cavitt Junior High School.

 

Here is a little background on me: (for those who are interested in that type of thing!)

I grew up in Colorado & started playing the cello in the 4th grade.  My junior high school didn't have enough string players to keep the orchestra going, so I switched to string bass & continued to play in the band throughout high school.  I also played in the jazz band & sang in the choir.  My love for performing music led me to pursue a degree in Music Education. I hope my enthusiasm for music will help encourage young people to develop skills on their individual instruments, as well as an appreciation for this important art form.

I genuinely enjoy being with the kids every day and seeing their progress. I truly believe that I have the best job in the world!

 

We are so fortunate to live in a place where music in the schools is valued and supported by our school district, administration, teachers & parents.  I am looking forward to a great year of music!
