My senior year of college, I decided to leave the country for a summer abroad in Queretaro, Mexico. All summer I lived with a mexican family, took 4 classes at a private university and traveled all over the country of Mexico every weekend. It was an amazing way to study and learn about the culture of Mexico.
I graduated from the University of Nebraska with a BA in Middle Level Education and dual majors in Spanish and History in 1996. My first year of teaching I taught at Mickle Middle School in Lincoln, NE. I then moved back home to San Diego (seven years was enough in Nebraska) and taught at Farb Middle school for 6 years teaching Spanish, English, Social Studies and I was also the activities director. I earned my masters degree at National University in Curriculum and Instruction in 1998. We moved to Sacramento in 2001 and I taught in three different high schools in Natomas for the past 13 years. I have taught all levels of Spanish from preschool to Spanish 1, 2, 3 and community college. We relocated to Granite Bay in 2011 and this is my fourth year in the Eureka Unified School District. I love my job!
