Mr. Pozzi

Science Explorations is a one trimester S.T.E.M. enrichment course open to all 7th and 8th grade students. This is an activity-based elective in which students work in collaborative teams to solve problems as they relate to areas of robotics and engineering.  

Students work with Lego Mindstorms to design, build, and program robotic creations to solve various challenge projects.  In another unit, students structurally engineer balsawood towers to support hundreds of pounds of weight.  A culminating unit involves designing and flying water rockets.  This activity challenges students to engineer rockets to reach the highest altitude possible.  Students learn how to calculate the altitude of their rockets as an application of their mathematical skills.
