I am proud to say that I am a native of the great city of Sacramento. My family settled here at the turn of the last century. My grandmother was born over one of the establishments of Old Sacramento. I have over 150 relatives who call this area 'home.'  I graduated from Grant Union High School which is situated in a pretty dangerous area of the city. 'Pacers 4 Life!' is our motto. I attended American River Junior College and then CSU-Sacramento. I have been married for over 35 years and have two sons, both of whom graduated from Granite Bay High School. I have been a part of the teaching profession for over 35 years with the last 22 years here in the Eureka Union School District. I have taught all grade levels from kindergarten to grade 8. I am honored to be a part of the Cavitt family, and I look forward to teaching the next group of amazing eighth graders.
